Google Sketchup freezes on startup

I just downloaded Google Sketchup through Wine on a Linux Cinnamon distro. When i open SketchUp, it freezes and I have to force quit. Any ideas what I can do?

You didn't mention either the Wine version or the Sketchup version. If Wine isn't the latest development release, upgrade. As for Sketchup, the AppDB reports varying results for different versions. The 2014 version does have a bug report that sounds like it could be what you're seeing, so if you're using that version, try an older one that has been reported to work.
