Good hardware low fps

Post by JoMac »

I've recently purchased a new system with the following hardware, and i'm still dropping to 8fps while playing Wow in 25 man raids:

CPU- AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo)
MB- MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0
Ram- CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) X1
Video Card- EVGA SSC 02G-P4-3653-RX GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16

This only happens in combat. As a test i positioned the camera where the only thing visible was the bottom corner of the room and nothing else. The second the group entered combat I watched my FPS drop from 150 to 12. This only seems to happen in combat. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Wine version 1.6.2
Ubuntu 64 bit (playing wow 32 bit)
1920 X 1080 resolution

You didn't mention what graphics driver you're using. It should be the proprietary Nvidia driver, not nouveau.

The AppDB howto suggests running in opengl mode to improve framerate. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=28973

I knew I left out something. I'm using the latest proprietary driver from the Nvidia site and opengl.
