Post by blender »

First of all, I am sorry for my bad english.

I have a UC-LoGIC WP8060 tablet.I using wizardpen taplet driver. I using PS 7.0 with wine-0.9.33.

My Pen worked perfectly with wine-0.9.33, but PS7.0 has some bugs.

I update my wine "wine-0.9.56". PS 7.0 working perfectly but my pen has not got pressure sensitive.

I turn back wine-0.9.33. I have too much problems PS 7.0. I want to use new version of wine.

What can I do?

Thank you very much for your help from now.

I've filed http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12005 for
this problem. You might want to add your email address
there in the CC field if you want to be notified of updates.

Can you run Photoshop with wine-0.9.56 and the following commandline:
WINEDEBUG=+wintab32 wine photoshop > log.txt 2>&1
Just draw one little line with the tablet and then quit.
And then send us the file log.txt.

Thanks!

Thanks. Next, can you do the same thing with the old working version of Wine?

Also, can you send your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file?

You could wait 11 days for Wine-0.9.58 to be released.
Or you could build wine from source, and
apply the patch with the 'patch' command.

If you're not a programmer, you should just wait...

Probably that's best but applying a patch isn't hard to learn. If you
have time over the next 11 days you might want to learn to do that as
I find that I have to do patches a few times a year and it's good to
understand how to do it.

It's really not hard. Just one command.

Post back if you're interested and cannot get the details on your own.

Right now, I am on a wacom based tabletpc, using the wacom drivers, and I'm getting the same report of

"Did not find a valid stylus cursor with >= 5 axes, returning 0 valid devices."
(full log available at http://slexy.org/view/s20wProWdf )

I primarily want to use ArtRage, which kinda needs the pressure sensitivity. I have no problem with it in GIMP or any other native app.

Geez, that was fast. The WP8060 tablet arrived.
Gutsy doesn't come with a driver, so you have to compile
one yourself, how barbaric! And worse, you have to futz with
xorg.conf! X just isn't quite polished when it comes to tablets.
After an hour or two, I had it working with the Gimp beautifully,
and was able to reproduce your problem with Wine.
It looks like I'll have to spend some time understanding winex11.drv/wintab.c,
as the few obvious hacks didn't help.

I'm assuming a wizard pen isn't a wacom. If my memory of history
serves me right the wacom put in the effort to get linux support and
in turn was supported. I've plugged several in over the last few
years and all have worked out of the box.

There hasn't been any change. I have a tablet that reproduces the
problem, but haven't had time to look at it. I'll probably hand it
to one of my summer interns when they arrive in May, if nothing else.
