PC Disk Games on Mac using Wine

I have been attempting to use wine to support classic pc games made for windows 95/98 and XP, the installation and start screens of every game I have work incredibly well, however when I start it either fails and disappears, or says their is no disc. I have learned that this is likely because of a Mac OSX limitation where the OS fails to support the use of the disc drive as needed for the game to work, however is there a solution to this problem. I have tried copying the files to a folder to avoid the disc drive with little success. Any ideas?
