hy guys if been resurching since the last 3 days streigt about how to change the grafic to 256 colors to play an classic game(titanic adventure out of time) on wine but i could not find a way
i tried the Display Maestro but the min. i get is "millions of colors" and it said to getting 256 colors i need to disable "automatic graphics switching" in the energy saver preferences pane but i wrote that my
Macbook pro
2,4 ghz intel core i5
mac os x lion 10.7.5
is not able to switch it cause the changed something in the versions before
IS THERE AN OTHER PROGRAM OR A TROCK TO CHANGE THE COLORS????IS THERE ANYONE HOW CAN HELP ME?!?!?!?! OTHERWISE I NEED TO THROW THIS FUCKING MBP OUT OF THE WINDOW
On my machine with my Nvidia enabled, I only see 16bpp and 32bpp available for use. With my Intel, I only have 32bpp. 256 color is 8bpp. Apple most likely doesn't even support this with current drivers, maybe on some machines...

I don't think Wine can try to emulate a color depth... it just runs whatever is actually running on the screen.
Not using the Mac driver, but using the X11 driver, people have tried using all sorts of tricks such as X2X, XVNC, Xypher or what not to try to create a 256 color X display. My recollection from seeing various attempts is that this is mostly unsuccessful.
