I have done the setup for a game and it created a .desktop file and I have no idea how to open it... I am a complete noobi when it comes to this stuff...

Its a useless file...

You'll launch the game much like you installed the game... just running its main exe thats somewhere in ~/.wine/drive_c most likely.
