FineReader 8 hangs with wine > 1.7.4

Hi,

I have been running FineReader8 just fine with many versions of Wine up to and including 1.7.4.
But since then, with any version up to 1.7.11 wine/FineReader hangs at startup, i.e.
the FineReader logo appears but wine now takes all CPU cycles, the (logo) window isn't updated
anymore (for an X11 redraw event). It can only be killed.

Going back to wine-1.7.4 AND restoring my .wine directory to its state before the first
run of the newer wine, makes FineReader run just fine again.

What can I do to locate the problem for generating a helpful bug report?
