Office 2000 - Startup Error in Wine 1.6.1 on Ubuntu 13.10

I have installed MS Office 2000 (Word 9.0.2720) from original media with wine 1.6.1 on a System 76 Leopard Desktop running Ubuntu 13.10. Excel and Powerpoint run excellent. Publisher will not start, but this has already been reported and not fixable. Chief concern is when starting WORD, a long pause then prompted reported error in installation. (Press OK, and Word starts but asks for Name and Initials, and accept license. This is expected the first time.) However this is persistent with each start-up. Note: I did attempt the repair from the original media and no improvement. I start WINWORD.exe from winefile. Would really like to get this working in wine. (In advance yes I use Open Office too.....)

Try installing to a 32 bit wineprefix. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#32_bit_wineprefix

Removing all references to wine in home directory (e.g. .wine directory, and others located in .local and .config) and then following your instructions in the link. I was able to do a clean 32 arch. and install Office 2000 with no issues. Thank you,

Thank you. Using these instructions I was able to successfully install and run Office 2000 (Powerpoint, Word, Excel).
