I installed Wine 1.7.9 using Macports on a Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Macbook Pro. I'm using it to run a program called NARS2000. This program uses the Windows Alt key extensively for entering special symbols from the keyboard that are displayed using a custom font. It works pretty well.
The problem is that to get the Windows Alt key I have to press the Command key on the Mac keyboard. Pressing the Option key (also labeled Alt) does nothing to the Windows program. That would only be a minor annoyance but for the fact that some key combinations using the Command key get caught and processed by the Mac. For example pressing Command Shift 3 triggers a screen capture instead of typing a symbol in NARS2000.
Is there any way I can configure or recompile wine to use the Mac Option-Alt key instead of the Command key to send Alt to the Windows program?
