Game Rendering issues with Wine

Post by PSPSlimBoy »

I am having a problem running various games using wine.
The games I've tested so far are Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Need for Speed: World, and TrackMania 2: Stadium.
I can get the games to install and run, however the rendering of the games are broken.
The NFS games appear to be almost-grey-scale, however they don't seem to render any 2D elements such as the HUD and main menus.
In TrackMania 2: Stadium, the clouds in the main-menu are broken and so is the menu text, so I can't really get in-game.
All the games can run with the xorg drivers, however they won't even start with the fglrx drivers.
However, now I can't start TrackMania 2 with or without fglrx.

Note: I am a very new linux user.

Specifications: ( Not sure if all of this is needed. )
OS: Linux Mint 16 "Petra" KDE
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.66Ghz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6950

Hopefully someone can help with this.
Thanks.

PSPSlimBoy You left out the most important bit of information. wine --version

It is known that open source Radeon drivers are still missing some rendering feature. We would normally be recommending fglrx just on feature completeness.

Yeah I was going to include it but I already hit the submit button and I couldn't edit the post.
I will add the versions.

Well, I would edit my original post but I don't see an edit button so I'll add them here.
The NFS wine versions were the ones that were recommended to me.
I will try the latest versions of wine for the NFS games when I get home.

NFSMW: 1.5.30
NFSW: 1.5.30
TrackMania 2: 1.7.8

PSPSlimBoy still missed what I request.

wine --version
to get wine to print the version of wine you are using. If you installed games by playonlinux we don't support that.
