Trying to install 3ds Max on my macbook pro

Hi! I'm having trouble Installing 3ds max 2011. Ive tried 2012,2013, and 2014. and they all seem to work so well as far as installation until it says my .net is not 4.0 or higher. but when I click "update" it says I am using version 4. but it can't install. I'm stuck and I can't figure out how to do it! please I need help!
