Hi all,
I recently bought a Tablet PC. I did not find any usable Linux applications to handwriting recognition.
Then I found a paid software http://www.visionobjects.com/
"MyScript Stylus" seems to work well under Wine (including Czech language recognition )
Programs can easily install, run, writing with stylus works great, text can be inserted into the applications running under Wine, but you can not insert text into native Linux applications.
Without getting text from Wine to Linux app is "MyScript Stylus" useless :-/
@see http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... &iId=14337
Can Wine applications communicate with native Linux applications?
Is it possible to fully enjoy "MyScript Stylus" in the near future.
Or should I forget about handwriting in Linux and prefer to install MS Windows on Tablet PC?
Thank you very much for any help
JJ

Yes I know about this version: http://www.visionobjects.com/en/webstor ... lus-linux/
But this is only for Ubuntu and without Czech recognition.
I Have OpenSuse.
I speak only Czech. :-/

Re: MyScript Stylus|Using Stylus for handwriting on Linux Ta
There is a longstanding bug about being unable to copy/paste between native apps and Wine apps that may be relevant. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7372
Is it possible to simply save the text in an application running in Wine (e.g., notepad) and then open the file in a native app?
Also, since the vendor does offer an (outdated) Ubuntu package, you might try contacting them about possible support for other/newer distros.
