Com Port ( USB) not working...Natiive Comport does work

I have followed this post

but am having no luck in getting my XP programs to use the com port...

The programs just dont seem to be able to use the port..

When I use my Linux terminal program the port works fine...
I dont get an error saying that Com1 is not available...

Would like some help as I have a heap of application specifice programs for thing like PABX's etc that I want to use under wine..
