"Open with Wine" not on 1.6-rc4 context menu

Post by whitesmith »

Hello *

I updated Wine to 1.6-rc4 and "Open with Wine"is no longer present on context menus. I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 and the Gnome DT. Now it's impossible to install any Winapps. Any ideas? Am I missing a module?

KDE has the option to right-click a file, select "Open with" and browse for a program that's not already listed. I imagine Gnome must also have some such way to manually associate filetypes with different apps. If it doesn't, you should still be able to run installers from the command line. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-f351523 ... 8da63be66f

You should also ask whoever made the wine packages you're testing, maybe they forgot to do something.
