Hey guys, so i've been trying to play a really old game of mine, Neverwinter Nights.
I checked the AppDB first and sure enough, NVN is rated as Platinum (here
I tried a while ago to get it to run on a vm running windows xp, but there were issues with the gpu. No dice.
So now i've been trying to get this to work with wine. A while ago I was running Ubuntu 12.10 and managed to get the game to install and boot, reletivly issue free. I've downgraded to the lts version of Ubuntu recently (12.04) and now after installing the game, I can't get it to boot.
The game complained about mismatching codes on an attempted install (or something) relating to gdiplus.dll, so I installed the component. I don't get the error message anymore, and t installed issue-free. I attempt to boot the game and wineserver launches and then crashes (or exits). Upon running the nvn.exe file in the c drive directory, the launch GUI appears and lets me select launch game, but the same issue happens. No error messages or anything.
Anyone have any ideas what the issue is?
