I have recently looked into Wine as a solution to running exe files, as various other softwares I have tried have not worked. I have gone through numerous wine tutorials, following steps exactly, yet each time it yields the same result. I do have XQuartz installed (and have reinstalled numerous times). I will right click on the exe, open with wine, and the dialog will pop up. I will then select run directly in: /Users/(username)/Wine Files and hit go. And then...XQuartz opens....and then...absolutely nothing happens. No errors, no program, nothing except XQuartz opening. Am I doing something wrong? I have tried with numerous exes but it's the same every time.

Normal Wine has no integration with OSX at that level, its all command line. It sounds like you are using some 3rd party product that uses Wine, perhaps WineBottler's Wine.app. You'll have to get support for getting that working from the maker of the product your using, as this forum is for plain wine only.
