i am using linux mint 14 kde 32bit and have installed wine 1.4.1 from synaptic. this installs winetricks too. simcity installs 100%(from dvd) and then stalls at 100%, after some time it gives the error: origin.exe has ancountered a serious problem. am i missing something.

i have also tried the latest wine 1.5.25, it asks for mono and gecko to be installed, after these install, the main simcity starts to install but immediately give an error: origin.exe has ancountered a serious problem.

thank you so very much. i got just what i needed. the solution is:
When the installation is at 100%, kill "EAProxyInstaller" process to finish the installation.
do the same when update is at 100%.

Thanks that helped me. I am now stuck right after that however. It keeps saying that it is unable to activate the game. I will try with wine 1.5.* (am currently on Mints 1.4.1)

The above problem went away when I opened Origin -> logged out -> Logged in again. Not sure why, but I am "Processing Large File" now. Will update if I have any more issues.
