winecfg audio tab lacks options (driver, emulator)

Post by peccan »

My winecfg for Wine 1.4.1 lacks some options in the audio tab, namely the ability to choose a driver, and the emulation options. Attached file shows a screenshot of someone else's winecfg versus mine.

I need to be able to switch from full emulation and ALSA to other options, should I downgrade?

You can change those settings in the registry. http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys

The relevant sections are HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\DirectSound and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Drivers. Read the wiki page I linked to for details.
