Program not recognizing installed DirectX

I am attempting to run a game through steam (wine version 1.4.1). However, every time I try and play the game it tries to install DirectX. I used

$ winetricks directx9

and it said I already have it installed, and it appears that the game is just not recognizing this.

The game I am trying to run is Natural Selection 2 (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... ngId=73279) and the only working version has a note that says "Directx9 had to be installed."

I haven't actively done anything to install directx9, as when I first used

$ winetricks directx9

it said it was already done. Is there a way to force the program into realizing directx is already installed? Or do I need to install more stuff from directx?

Also, if anyone knows any up-to-date information on getting Natural Selection 2 working with wine, that would be awesome.

Just to add on a question, is there a way to see what dependancies from DirectX I am missing to make the game run?

Managed to fix it. Not really sure how to close the thread, so if a mod sees this you can close the thread.
