Hi!
I would need some help with opening a game through Wine. The installation went fine, but when I start the game, I get a "PlayCutscene error" that basically says that two .dat video files are not able to play. The error code is 0x80040218, but when I google it it doesn't give me much help. The strange thing is that I can open those files manually in VLC with no problem.
So, what should I do to make it work?
Thank you!

Re: Problem with .dat video file
Hi
What game are you trying to play?
Did you search the AppDB for your game?
Which version of wine are you using?
Did you try with the latest wine?
To play The Godfather, I have to remove/rename the movie folder.
If I don't do so, the game crashes at the moment it tries to play the intro movie.
Doing so also disables the bonus videos that can be collected in game.
This is due to the video player of the game crashing under wine for whatever reason.
You may be experiencing the same thing with your particular game.
Try to remove/rename the .dat files and see if the game starts.
If this workaround doesn't work, or if seeing the cutscenes is mandatory to finish the game, you should file a bug.
