Why do I always have problems installing things?

Is it generally a lack of needed windows things? Is it just I need .NET or I need this or that or something? Because I always try to get a bunch of stuff but I always seem to get errors and never am able to run a game. Is there any program that can help diagnose these problems? Or find the needed dependencies or something? God, Windows annoys me.

I decided to try Linux after reading the news about Valve's threat to leave windows and move to Linux. Also the fact that IBM use linux too, but sadly IBM are not a big gaming community. It seems it might be a while before Linux will come anywhere close to a replacement to windows for a gaming platform.

Still, with a bit of luck they yet might manage it. There's still a few more years left before windows 7 becomes too old to use.
