How to disable mouse capture?

Hi, I've recently upgraded to wine 1.4 and run into a very annoying behavior - the mouse is not released when I alt-tab to another application. I use Warcraft 3 emulating a virtual desktop (can't maximize otherwise). I have to revert to ancient 1.2.3 version which was marked as latest stable on gentoo for ages. I've also read that this behavior is intended - since I don't minimze Warcraft, wine shouldn't free the cursor. But it is really annoying, and until I find a fix I'll be using 1.2.3 forever. Is there a solution/patch/workaround/hack available to this? Would be good if I could turn mouse grab off for this app, turn it off globally or remove this functionality at all. Any help appreciated.
