Wine 1.5.6 has broken the graphics in MS Office 2007 on Mac

Post by yorkshirespud »

Hi, I run Wine on my Mac 10.6.8 so that I can run MS Word 2007, and it runs great. I have Wine installed by MacPorts.

I've just upgraded Wine from 1.5.5 to 1.5.6, and now when MS Word runs the sizing is now way off. The fonts and everything appears must larger and doesn't fit as it used to.

I downgraded to 1.5.5, and Word now works correctly again.

Something in the 1.5.6 build of Wine has thrown off the graphics sizing, any ideas?

Thanks

Sry for my silly request but what should i do now if i got the same problem?
I read the Bug but i dont know exactly what i can do (without patching wine)

For me it only breaks the freshest installation with 1.5.6 after upgrading from 1.5.5

I believe the solution that avoids patching is to downgrade wine.

Either downgrade to 1.5.5 or just live with it until it's fixed. The problem is purely aesthetic.

That's what fixed it for me, I just moved back to Wine 1.5.5, which is easy to do with Mac Ports, you just make the older port active.
