Hi, im just interrupting 3 years later having the same problem and after
renaming the client registry blob and letting steam reinstalling it still
didnt work but went into c:/program files/steam and right clicked on steam
exe, chose open with wine and then it worked. have created new steam account
and now in the process of updating flash (ugh). Ill report back here if I
have any more issues.
