ORIGIN EA downloader issue

Post by paulthetall »

Hi guys,

Well, it appears that Origin 8.5 works gold for linux users. They can install Mass effect 3 fine and such, however, not for me on my Mac.

- yes i can start and login
- yes I can add games :)
- Yes I can start the install
- No it not finishes. At 99 procent of the install it says that i have to restart
I can choose yes or no, don't matter same result installer keeps to be on 99% and is "installing" which never ends. This while on windows after downloading no restart notification appears and install finished without problems.

when i quit origin and then restart it again, then i can click on the game to start it, but get an awc.dll error. I checked the internet and yeah, seemed to happen more often with people but their fix is to replace it with a new awc.dll and anather all (EA.dll or something) but replacing those won't help either. So I tried installing it on windows and copy pasting it to external hdd and then put it in the origin games folder and then run the game. Same awe.dll error is there.

Yes, you can crack it and the games will start, but if Linux users can start there origin games with cracks why not Mac users?

Thanks. Ihave overseen that. However, about mass effect all users notifies about running the game without problems (platinum) if there was a crack needed i would not rate it platinum.

The problem you are reporting is with the Origin downloader. Have you tried the workaround mentioned in the bug report?
