Need help with RPG Maker

I use wine 1.0, ubuntu 8.04

I cant use, on the program have super lag on data base and on Event Mode, this happens since first try on Ubuntu, like on wine 9.40. Why?

(for install, its easy)

RPG Maker has always started, and always lagged horribly, since the first time I ever tried using it under wine (in 2003). Checking quickly on appdb, I couldn't find any bugs about it; you can try filing one, or try a newer version of RPG maker (they're all listed in the rpg maker appdb entry).
