Execute Windows Programs from another OS?

Post by xoaC »

Hi,

For christmas i got a netbook with multiboot (Windumb, Ubuntu and Mac).
On my Windumb i got a Office installed which I'd like to use in Ubuntu via Wine.
So, is it possible to execute the already installed Office in Ubuntu via Wine from the Windumb partition?

Greetz.

No. You have to install Office within Wine.

Unless you were given the MS Office key, and you want to use MS Office in Linux, I'd use the Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder in Windows to aquire the MS Office key. Then install Office in Wine on the Linux side with that key. Though personally I don't have a problem with the free and Linux-native LibreOffice.
