I think that should be interesting if we could upload videos of the applications that we test on wine to the AppDB and Bugzilla.
I recently tested the WebM encoder (http://www.webmproject.org/) from Google and it seems to produce videos with a great quality and small file sizes.
The most recent versions of Chrome and Firefox are able to play this format nativily.
This would help people share their problems and findings more properly.
It would be very nice if we could put these videos and people play them directly from inside their browser, embedded in the webpage.

I'm sure there are some times it could be useful, but in general I thinkThis would help people share their problems and findings more properly.

Re: Uploading videos to Bugzilla and AppDB
I would like to counter that using visuals is much better than reading and trying to understand what people are trying to convey. However, they are bandwidth intensive and use up much storage space so they should be high quality and complete/concise. The final decision would be up to the site hosts, not simply one or two administrators.tparker wrote:On 11/14/2011 02:37 PM, fernandocarvalho wrote:I'm sure there are some times it could be useful, but in general I thinkThis would help people share their problems and findings more properly.

YouTube?
What's wrong with uploading to YouTube and providing a hyperlink to the video, something you can do right now? Just right-click > open in new tab.
If you want to get really wild, maybe that YouTube-embed thing can be used.
I find it hard to ask of them all that storage space.
I'm not saying videos are a bad idea. They can be pretty great. I just feel that we should take advantage of YouTube.
