I have been trying for four days now to use AppDB. When I tried the first time to create an account using my email address, I was told to wait for an email with my password in it. I'm still waiting now four days later. If I try to create a new account (using the old email) I am told "another account is using the email address". Well, that's probably mine so why won't I get the confirmation (and password) email?
If I go to the login page and enter my email, then click the "send me a new password" nothing happens there either.
So, is the AppDB broken?

Is AppDB broken?
Re: Is AppDB broken?
No, it's not broken. I can log in, and I just tested the "send me a new password" link and it works fine. The confirmation emails are probably being filtered out as spam. Try a different email address.WB0HYQ wrote:I have been trying for four days now to use AppDB. Therein lies my problem. I cannot "log in". Apparently, these was some sort of glitch between application FOR an account, and the granting of the account.
As I said before, if I try to log in using my email, I have NO password to put in the field. No email was ever sent to me. I get my email through Thunderbird and it doesn't have a spam filter. My ISP account is set to allow everything through it. Thus, no email was stuck in a spam folder anywhere. I simply did not get one from AppDB.
I shouldn't have to create a new email address just so I can use AppDB. And, if I do, there is no guarantee that the same thing won't happen all over again.
If I use my original email and click the 'send me a new password' still nothing arrives. I've clicked that link around 20 times now and pffffft!

Your ISP may still be filtering emails, at a level where they never even make it to your spam folder. Another user had that happen to him with the confirmation email for his forum account; there's a rather lengthy thread about it on the forum. It has happened to me with other sites.WB0HYQ wrote: My ISP account is set to allow everything through it.
The sender is not the same.If I were able to EDIT, I could add that the email I used is the same one that notified me of your response.
If you PM me your email address I can try manually resetting the password and PM it to you.
