patches for wine

I am trying to install napoleon total war, and the battles do not work, so I found out that I need a patch for wine to make the game fully work, but I do not understand how to do it.

Please Help!

You need to build wine from source code applying the patch to the
source before building. In a lot of cases this means you must use the
same exact version of wine source that the patch was written for.
