Hello everyone, this is my first post, I am new to Wine.
My name is Naweek, currently using a mac because Windows 8 made me switch permanently to OSX.
I am using a music program called FL Studio 11, Windows only at the moment, but it is wrapped by Image Line themselves for OSX. The way you install a plugin (VST) in the program is via "File->Run Command...".
So most of the stuff is working pretty good this way, certainly enough to make music. However I want to install a plugin which is Windows 7 only (Reaktor 5.9) I need that version of Reaktor to run Molekular. Since FL Studio thinks it is running on a Windows XP machine, the plugin won't install.
So, does anybody know a way to trick an wrapped program into thinking it's Windows 7 instead of Windows XP without rewrapping it?
Thank you all!
Naweek

Wrappers and Wine packages may not be discussed here.
You should ask Image Line about your issue.
I don't know if it's different with their CrossOver Wine version, but in plain Wine, you can change the Windows version on the Applications tab of winecfg.

ok dude you can do this, if it is a wrapper then you can do one thing, right click the application, go to contents, then go to resources, then drive_c, then windows, then system 32 then winecfg.exe . now OPEN ONE MORE FINDER WINDOW. drag winecfg and drop it on top of the application. the application, which is a wrapper will open winecfg.exe then do what he said. CHANGE the WINDOWS version.
good luck homie

@hrik2001 That actually worked! The installation succeeded and the application works.
Thank you.
