wine 1.4 with win7

Post by Laguna_x »

sorry for bad english/

what i have:
Debian wheezy with kde. Wine 1.4.something (don't remember, because i'm far from PC). Kontakt 5 (official Native Instruments on CDs). user added to sudoers.

what i doing:
winecfg -> appsettings -> win-version = set to windows 7 (because K5 needs W7 and higher (do not work on win200X);
next i'm opened drive settings and tried to set /media/cdrom0 to drive (let it be I: for example, don't metter at all), and tried to set type to CD-ROM. but configuration for type do-not saves/ when i insert CD to drive - it mounts as @Network drive@ (shows in advanced in device settings). When i lounch setup.exe from CD it tells me @insert Kontakt 5 CD@.

other vertions of windows saves type normaly, but Kontakt 5 setup don't starts, telling "needs win7 and higher".

A: is there any advice, how to set CD-ROM type for win7?

Your Wine version is almost 3 years old and no longer supported. Upgrade.
