Adobe Audition cursor problem in wine 1.6 or 1.7 - OK in 1.4

Post by Flemur »

Hi !

I have two fairly subtle problems with wine versions 1.6 or 1.7, which don't occur in wine 1.4.
I've gone back and forth on the versions several times and the difference in consistent.

Deleting the ~/.wine (32 bit) prefix and starting over didn't help.

With "Adobe Audition 1.5" the cursor (that moves along with the audio wave-form) jumps to the wrong position after about 1/4 second of playing; then it stays about 1/2 to 1 second ahead of what's actually playing, moving at the right speed but in the wrong place; which makes cut/paste editing rather tricky. I tried playing with all the Audition settings that might affect this...no dice.

Related (OK w/wine 1.4, happens in 1.6 or 1.7):
With "foobar2000 v1.3.5" (and earlier versions) the popup windows showing audio volume or song position take up the entire screen if you click on the slider(s); "hover + mouse-wheel" has no popup, so no problem. With wine1.4 the popup windows are maybe 24x100 pixels. A minor issue...

Otherwise, both programs work great!

I'm running wine on these 64 bit linux installs:

Mint 17: can install wine 1.4, 1.6 or 1.7; problems with 1.6 or 1.7, not with 1.4 (installed from saved .deb files)
Debian Testing: wine 1.6 or 1.7: both have the problems.
Debian Stable: still on wine 1.4, no problem.

They all use the same wine "prefix", with ~/.wine -> directory on a separate partition.

Any ideas? I'd stick with wine 1.4 but that's getting difficult as the linux repositories change.

TIA!

Run regression tests and file bugs for each of the problems. http://wiki.winehq.org/RegressionTesting
