World of Warcraft poor FPS - Wine issue?

Hey guys,

Well, I'll get started with WoW is working stable, I have yet to try every feature though as I haven't had the time. But It is getting very low FPS even when there is limited textures and models to draw (say, inside a small room). I am getting max of about 35FPS. Current setup:

Ubuntu 14.04
AMD 8320 CPU
16GB 1833 DDR3
AMD HD7970 (Sapphire 3GB GHz Vapor-X)
Running all latest AMD Drivers as of 10-Feb-2015
Fresh OS install as of 10-Feb-2015
Latest Wine Beta as of 10-Feb-2015 (couldn't get WoW to run on stable, just hangs at 80% loading after character selection)

Running WoW in 64bit. No difference if using 32bit. WoW is running off a SSD that is formatted to NTFS (I have limited space atm with my 1TB failed, I need this as NTFS so I can play BF4)

I don't know much about the backend workings of Linux or Wine, but I have set WoW to run in OpenGL. So you will have to dumb down what you're saying and pretend you're talking to someone who has grown up with Windows, in fact... dont pretend =P

Unable to check FPS on any of my steam games to rule out driver issues due to steam guard/support servers being down (0920h utc+8) and I cannot actually activate my steam on this OS... mutter mutter mutter, but unless the AMD Drivers have dramatically changed recently (say, within 3 months), my steam games *should* be fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Anyone have tricks and stuff they could help me with? I have PlayOnLinux, but I don't know what that is supposed to accomplish.

I'm not familiar with WoW but on the AppDB page there are several reports of low fps with WoD.

hello, may i ask how did you install, i recently had my computer die and now all i have left is my linux ubuntu 14.4 -32bit and i am having issues, i dont know if i missed something on setup, or if something is going on, all the help fourms are so old, and nothing has been working. its going on 3 days now and i usually never post, but i need to find somthing to make it work lol any help is so much appreciated, oh and i have uninstalled/reinstalled 2 times so far, about to go on third once i know how you downloaded it lol
