M.G. Rising: Revengeance crashes change settings/flickering

Game crashes immediately, when you change graphic settings.
I tried GLSL disabled with no help
wine versions 1.7.34 and 1.7.11
Also there is bad flickering (sometimes no visible menus)
I have disabled the Steam ingame overlay.

The bug report hasn't been updated in over a year. Retest in 1.7.37, and if the problem is still present, add a comment that this is still an issue in current Wine.

Could be https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35718. You could try the patchset from wine-staging that reverts the commits that caused the regression to see if that helps. If it does, please add a link to that bug to the AppDB entry for the game.

i have also tried cs and path of exile patches with no result

Yes. The patchset you need to try is https://github.com/wine-compholio/wine- ... ixelFormat. If your distro packages wine-staging, it's probably easier to just install that package.

No. But the crash on changing graphics settings is a known bug, and the OR has updated it to verify that it is still an issue.

i have emerged wine staging how can i apply this patch?Gentoo box 64.

I've never used Gentoo, so I could be wrong, but doesn't "emerge" mean you've installed it? There should be nothing to patch; a wine-staging package presumably would include all the patches in wine-staging. Is there any usage of winetricks in wine staging?In my gentoo these packages conflict..Winetricks ask for wine and unistall wine-staging.Emerge=install\finally i will try mgr revengeance in wine staging 1.7.36

Winetricks is just a script that automates changing settings and installing some things in Wine. I haven't heard of any of the patches in wine-staging causing any problems with it. If your package manager won't let you install winetricks along with wine-staging, just get it directly from winetricks.org. It doesn't need to be installed.

Finally game starts and plays out of box with wine-staging 1.7.36 and dll d3dx43 native-builtin of course dwrite dll->disable(this is important for steam app).
Next goal is metal gear solid ground zeroes...!
