Pokerstars 7

Post by AlexT »

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum but I hope someone can help me! I' from Germany so my english isn't that perfect but I hope you don't mind...

I'm using Linux mint 17 Quiana with wine 1:1.6.2-0ubuntu4 and since yesterday it works quite well. Then Pokerstars updated its client to version 7 and now I'm not able to play anymore. The client starts, but just when i run it twice and then all i see is an empty gray small window right at the left top of the screen...

Is somebody causing the same problems or does anybody know what to do?

Greetings and Thanks for any answer/help

Try upgrading to the latest development release, and if that doesn't fix it, post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log

I have not tried to run PS7 on Linux, but you can use PS6 if you install PS7 on a Windows machine, then go to Settings->Revert to PS6, and then copy PS installation folder into you Linux machine and run it with Wine.

I've upgraded to PS7 using Wine 1.7.31. It works fine, though I've not tried all features. You can use third party software like PlayOnLinux to select this Wine version for PokerStars, because a global upgrade to unstable Wine can cause trouble with another Windows app.

Some users in the German ubuntuusers.de asked the same question and I also recommended them to upgrading to the latest development version. I had it running with wine 1.7.32
