However, it's found to conflict with the proprietary FGLRX driver for AMD Radeon, mostly the later items.
The reason for the switch from MESA to FGLRX is due to a freezing problem and nothing related to wine. However in the hope of spreading the word should more ubuntu users come here seeking help trying to install wine...
The Wine Package in the respository 'was' fixed. FGLRX however is on its way according to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1129409
