Message: "The program driver_installer.exe has encountered"

I am on Linux Mint 17 Qiana Cinnamon, and installing a Softether Vpngate-client... with Wine 1.6.2. I am able to install the vpngate-client .exe fine. The program renders, and I am able to select a server. As the vpn client is negotiating the connection... Here is the entire message that appears:

The program driver_installer.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience (not even half as sorry as I am)...

This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check the application database for tips about running this application.

I have not had much success installing much more complex software like vpngate-client, using Wine. Have you run into this issue? Do you have a fix? I am trying to access Linux info on your softether.org site, but it does not want to connect, and keeps spinning. I assume this is your servers? Any ideas?
