Hi, I am new to Linux(mint) and when I first ran WINE, it asked if I wanted to download gecko and the other download about internet. I pressed cancel to both without thinking. I found out where to download gecko but not where to get the second download. None of my Windows apps can connect to the internet. How can I make this work?
P.S. One of the apps I want to use is Bitcomet and on the appDB, it's platinum for the latest test so I know it's not the application compatibility.
Internet Compatibility Download
Re: Internet Compatibility Download
Plain Wine does not prompt for an "internet compatibility download," so if you really saw a prompt for that, you are not using plain Wine, and you need to ask your question in the support channels of whatever third party version of Wine you are using.
The two things plain Wine does prompt to download if not installed are wine-gecko and wine-mono. The latter provides .NET compatibility, and that's probably the prompt you saw. AFAIK, there are Ubuntu packages for both, and that's the best way to install them. If you need to install them manually, follow these instructions:

Thanks so much! I am downloading it now (and am using the official WINE).dimesio wrote:Plain Wine does not prompt for an "internet compatibility download," so if you really saw a prompt for that, you are not using plain Wine, and you need to ask your question in the support channels of whatever third party version of Wine you are using.
