Wine install failure on 14.02

Installed wine from command line per winehq recommendations.
downloaded and unpacked ok but when it came to "packet configuration - end user license agreement for microsoft software" processs stopped. no way to approve agreement
sorry if stupid question but new to ubuntu

Do you mean 14.04? There is no Ubuntu 14.02.

What version of Wine do you have, and what app are you trying to install? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade. If the problem persists, post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log
