Problem Install AOEIII

I am having trouble install Age of Empires 3 with Wine. I have been following these steps

Have tried the all the alternate methods except the one that requires a different version of wine. I tried downloading and installing the version mentioned their from source but I couldn't remove all the wine binnery packages with "make uninstall".

When I run the installation I keep getting the error

1608: Unable to create InstallDriver instance,
Return code -2147221164

Any help would be greatly apprecated I am pretty new to wine.
