How to install an old version 1.7.16 to play HearthStone

Hello guys

I'm a new user of Ubuntu, no install of Wine on my PC before and I have recently installed Wine ( version 1.7.20 ) ... But HearthStone does not work ( because of this issue http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36216 )

There is a reverting patch but I dont know how to apply it and build again etc. May be is it easier for me to install version 1.7.16 in order to play HearthStone ? Can someone explain me how to uninstall Wine 1.7.20 and install 1.7.16 version ?

To downgrade to an older package, just use your package manager. If you're not sure how, ask on the Ubuntu forum.

I cant downgrade because this is the First version that I have installed. How can I install /find 1.7.16 version to build or install it ?

The wiki page I linked to above has links to download the source. Ubuntu used to archive old Wine packages at http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/archive/binary/, but it doesn't look like it's been kept up to date. Ask the package maintainer where you can get old packages.

Thanks for your help, I finally built wine from 1.7.16 sources. Here is some links to help other with people with this issue :

get the sources for wine : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa , link found on http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu

get dev libaries in order to compile wine : http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages
