Guten Tag,
is it possible to install a special type of PDF-Printer in Linux Wine?
My operating-system is Linux Xubuntu 13.10, Wine-Version 1.4.1.
Background, I found different PDF-Printer to convert RGB to cmyk PDF for professional printing.

Is it possible to print from Libre-Office or Inkscape to such a PDF-Printer, if the Windows version of Libre-Office and Inkscape is installed in Wine 1.4.1?
Thank you so much for your answer.
Best regards
Wilfried

No. Windows hardware drivers don't work in Wine and printers must be installed in CUPS for Wine to see them. This does apply to software that functions as a printer driver even if no physical printer is involved.

I tested PDF-Creator, it installs and from Foxit-Reader (installed in Wine) I was able to chose this PDF-Creator-Printer.
So I guess if these pdf-printer really support icc profiles like isocoated-v2 and cmyk and there is a possibility to chose the right color-management, it can be possible to create pdf-files with pdf-printers.
I will try to see if it works or not.

It may install, and show up on the list of printers, but were you actually able to "print" to a file with it?
