I have just recently moved from windows to ubuntu v14.04 LTS. I have installed wine v1.6. I am a truck driver and I use a program to scan documents to my company and am having trouble launching the application. The app is called trippak mobile and I have successfully download the .exe file and installed it using the wine program loader. After install it provided me with a desktop icon and I thought everything would work fine. However, when I click the shortcut, it acts like its going to start the app and then it does nothing. I have also gone to the winetricks and istalled some dll's that I found on a post and still nothing. I'm at a loss here and can't seem to figure this thing out. I would really love to keep my ubuntu but really need that app to do my job. If there is anyone that can help me to figure this out, it would be greatly appreciated.
You can download and try the app if needed to help here http://www.trippak.com/site/drivers/trippak-in-cab
It is the first click here link under the video.
Thanks everyone,
Kevin
trippak mobile scanning
Re: trippak mobile scanning
Windows hardware drivers don't work in Wine. For scanners to work in Wine, they need to have a 32 bit SANE driver installed and working. Most people who have that find that native scanning software is sufficient.
