Wine Windows Program Loader is a third party application.
Source: ForumGuidelines - The Official Wine WikiDo not post questions about third party applications used to install and/or manage Wine. Such applications should provide their own support channels. If you have used one, retest in plain Wine before posting here.

Don't think so; I've seen some distros call Wine that in their Open with... dialog.olivierfrdierick wrote:Wine Windows Program Loader is a third party application.
I don't know where you saw that, because there's no AppDB entry for it. You might be confusing this with Kindle for PC, which does work. Send To Kindle is not the same thing, and I wouldn't expect it to work in Wine, because it appears to be a printer driver. In any case, I did download it, and got the same error as you from the installer. You can file a bug for the problem, though I don't know whether anything can or will be done about it.joao_adventure wrote:I see that someone could execute in other versions of wine,

This is what made me say it was a third party app: Wine Windows Program Loader - Ubuntu Apps Directory.

I think that's actually just Wine in a very confusingly named and described package. Ubuntu has a penchant for doing that.
In any case, the problem the OP describes is real.
