New to the forum!. Some time ago I managed after a bit of a tweak to get my favourite spectroscopy Windows app to work in Wine under Linux Mint 16 and also 17 on a 64bit laptop. I`m trying to get the same app to run on another similar spec laptop but try as I will I can`t seem to get the app to run?. I installed the .exe file using Wine and it went through all the usual installation windows and all seemed fine but when I click on the created icon on the desktop the cursor looks like something is happening for about 10 seconds and then stops and nothing happens. I can`t remember what I did to get the app running last time so I know it does run under Wine. I`ve got version 1.6 of Wine and also Wine Gecko 2.21 installed and I`ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app many times but still no joy and running out of things to try, anyone any ideas what I could try next please?.
