I have a purchased copy of wavepad 3.05 installed with wine 1.4.1
The only issue I've noticed so far is the volume control on the wavepad does not work.
However, I can use the OS built-in audio volume control as a work-around.
I much prefer waveped over audacity for general editing functions.
So wine has helped wonderfully.

Re: Wavepad 3.05 install with Mint 16 so far so good
Update on this:
I did notice that my first instance of editing one of my MP3 files, the PC was off-line.
In the process of saving the file after editing, got a WavePad notification that it needed a plugin for saving mp3 format.
However, at another time, I was successful at saving an edited mp3 file to mp3, but this time, the PC was on-line.
It is possible that WavePad accessed whatever plugin it needed, updated itself and saved the file to mp3.
Or else the first instance was some kind of quirk.
In any case, its working fine for editing my mp3 files.
