Treasure Island Game (GOG) character speech all symbols

I have no idea what's happening here. If you can't see it, the text at the bottom is all symbols. I'm running Mint 16 with AMD radeon R7 M265 and I'm pretty sure I have the correct graphics drivers installed. So far I've installed all the fonts that I have on my windows computer (where the game works fine) and it still isin't working. Please help!

How did you install them?

fernern, you didn't specify what Wine version you're using. If you have Wine 1.6 or anything older than 1.7.9. then I suggest upgrading your Wine (1.7.19 is the latest version).
The problem you encounter reminds me of bug #34713

I upgraded to version 1.7.19 and everything is workin fine now. Thanks!
