Forcing app to open with X11?

Post by gorkon89 »

I recently upgraded my macbook to OSX Mavericks, and subsequently restored it to Snow Leopard (10.6.8) as it ran too slowly. However, when I try to run Wine apps now, Wine will try to run the app itself instead of opening in an X11 window. When I try to run KoTOR 2, the colours are wrong, the resolution is bad, and it crashes very frequently - none of these problems occurred with X11. Is there a way to force Wine to use X11 to run apps?

look at http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys and look for x11...
you need to add a registry key under current user, software, wine, Drivers, Graphics, and set it to x11.

dude x11 was not supported in osx mavericks so x11 got deleted, now you are downgraded it and you have nothing left. click on the x11 icon you would see it saying that some apps want to use it so then you have to download xquartz, a x11 alternative. wine was tryinng to run with some buildin x11 which is really poor. Install it.
