Printing MS Office in 32 bit prefix on 64 bit Linux Mint

Post by rainstayaway »

I have 64 bit Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon installed. In Playon Linux I installed MS Office 2007 with a 32 bit prefix. However when I goto print in any of the Office programs it says I have no printers installed. My understanding is it should mirror the printers installed in LM; which there are a few. Is there a fix here?

PlayOnLinux is not supported here. Their script for Office 2007 makes changes that are worse than unnecessary: it changes the Windows version, which will trigger a known bug.

Reinstall in a clean wineprefix in the current development release of plain Wine following the instructions in the AppDB. Wine should see any printers installed in CUPS; if it doesn't, post terminal output from the printer dialog.
